THE ROLE:

The chosen candidates for Producer Unit (PU) Manager would be required to implement the Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) throughout Punjab.

Key Accountabilities

The shortlisted applicants for Producer Unit (PU) Manager will be responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with the Better Cotton Standard System. He/she will also be liable, but not limited to:
Prepare and implement a Continuous Improvement plan for the Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) based on the project's authorized KPIs.
Building the capacity of field staff, including Field Facilitators and Women Trainers, to apply the Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) and Good Agricultural Practices.
Ensure compliance with the M&E system for production units and projects.
Ensure the timely collection, credibility, and quality of all sorts of data as specified by the organization/donor, including lists of farmers, workers (male and female), Result Indicator data, utilization reports, and so on.

Produce success stories, blogs, research publications, and activity details as a result of the introduced initiatives.
Create and implement a road map for the project's interventions and the sustainability of producer units.
Ensure that all essential documentation and training records are maintained at the project level.
Create training materials for better cotton farmers and field teams in the local language.
Prepare and submit all types of reports, including activity, monthly highlight, quarterly, mid-term, and end-of-year reports, as needed by the organization/donor, within the specified time frame.
Allow donors and organization representatives to undertake credibility checks, monitoring activities, and baselines.
Organize and conduct meetings, workshops, seminars, visits, and briefings as needed.
Any additional assignments required to meet the primary role requirements.

ABOUT YOU.

Strong awareness of cotton production technology and its environmental implications.
Proven networking, team-building, organizational, and communication abilities.
Experience in Microsoft Office Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, among others.
Experience and aptitude to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
Willingness to make field trips to the interiors of lower Punjab to speak with farmers.
Strong report writing skills.
Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Education & Experience

Master's degree in agriculture, ideally in entomology, plant protection, agronomy, or crop production.

Experience coordinating and supervising a big number of field teams.
Understanding of BCI Production Principles and Criteria.
Strong awareness of cotton production technology and its environmental implications.
Must have at least 2-3 years of supervising experience, ideally in the agricultural industry.
Experience in training needs assessments (TNA), training design, training material development, and training evaluation.

Comfortable working independently but also receiving suggestions;

Willing to visit remote and tough regions in Pakistan.

Reporting to: Project Manager, Project Coordinator

Contract Duration: 11 months including 3 months probation period

Key Peer group: Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Project Officer M&E

Direct reports: Field Facilitators

Salary Range: 50,000 PKR 60,000 PKR (Gross)
