Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Program/Project Manager, the School Officer is responsible for assisting and advising principals in the overall management of schools under his or her supervision in accordance with school policy/guidelines. Through facilitation, coordination, and regular monitoring, the SO ensures higher academic quality, primary capacity building, and consistent management procedures.

Key responsibilities:

Facilitation:
Works with administrators to identify and prioritize the school's needs.
Assists the principal in formulating the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and ensuring its implementation within the given timeframe. Assists the principal in documenting progress, and discusses and agrees on alternative course(s of action).
Holds quarterly cluster-based coordination meetings with principals to share information, monitor progress toward quarterly objectives, address community issues, and generate suggestions for ongoing improvement. Maintains minutes of conversations and decisions, updates the PMs, and seeks counsel when appropriate.
Guides and assists the principal in ensuring that school policy requirements are followed and adapted.
Increases principals' capacity to identify and report on the training requirements of teaching personnel. Reports training requirements to the Program/Project Manager.
Collaborates with the school, program, and training department to execute training. Monitors and keeps records.
Ensures the availability and optimal usage of all resources, including curriculum guides, teaching and learning materials (ECE, Science and Math kits), manuals, library resources, and IT resources.
Monitors success against quarterly targets in schools and reports on a monthly basis.
Ensures that co-curricular requirements are followed and appropriate activities are carried out at each school.
Ensures that principals keep track of and update data in schools, which is then submitted to the PM in standard forms and on a defined schedule.

Coordination:
Works closely with communities, SMCs, and PTAs to enhance their capacity to support principals/schools based on their roles and responsibilities.
Holds quarterly meetings with PTAs/SMCs and records their minutes.
Interacts with PTAs and parents to ensure their involvement in their children's academic success and other school activities in accordance with school policy requirements.
Distributes information and papers to schools in a timely manner
Coordinates with the PM to raise PRs and ensure timely delivery of books, teaching and learning materials, and all other assets, including furniture, to schools.
Coordinates with M&E via the PM during the teacher and student assessment and data collection process.
Program Managers receive weekly reports on the state and progress of schools in relation to their work plans.
Maintains the photo library and shares it with the DIL team as needed.

Education & Experience:
Education: (formal degree).
BA/BSc in any discipline from a recognized institution or university.
Qualification: (certificate, diploma, etc)
B.Ed (desirable).
(Related) Experience:
Two years of teaching and fieldwork at the school level.

Skills: (essential and desirable)
• Effective oral and written communication abilities in English and Urdu (E)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with principals, teachers, and communities (E)
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks (D).

• Good analytical skills (E).
• Good grasp of MS Office, particularly Excel
